The story behind this shirt
In 2022, 38 percent of Americans told Gallup they or a family member had put off medical treatment because of cost, the highest share in 22 years of asking, and 27 percent said it was for a serious condition. KFF found four in ten adults carrying health care debt, and eight in ten of those had skipped or delayed care in the past year because of the cost. The front print says "Copays don't stop waste. They stop care." and, under it, the address of the Medicare for All page on this site, where the claim sits with its evidence, the best case against it, and the answer.
