The story behind this shirt
In Lazard's 2025 report, unsubsidized utility-scale solar runs $38 to $78 a megawatt-hour and onshore wind $37 to $86, against $48 to $109 for a new gas combined-cycle plant, $71 to $173 for coal, and $149 to $251 for a gas peaker. Solar and wind have been the cheapest new-build power in the country for ten years running, the same year a new combined-cycle gas plant hit a ten-year cost high. The sticker says "Solar and wind beat gas on price, backup included." and carries the address of the Green New Deal page on this site, where the claim sits with its evidence, the best case against it, and the answer. It is sized for a laptop lid or a water bottle.
